Cut It Fast

Contours must be closed

A closed contour is the only kind a laser can cut a part from. If the ends of a contour miss each other by up to 0.001 mm, we join them without asking (that is just noise from saving the file); up to 0.1 mm, we close the gap and ask you to approve it; up to 2 mm, we ask “Close it?”. Beyond that limit the contour is blocked, and we show how many millimetres are missing. A stray line gets a question: is it a slit, or something to skip? Several gaps on the same contour make a single question with every gap marked, not a separate question for each.

What you'll see when you get a quote

  • We'll ask you

The contour has a 0.8 mm gap. Close it?

  • We won't cut it

The outer contour is not closed - 40 mm is missing. Close it here - with one click in the DXF Editor.
