What should I name the layer to be cut?

Anything you like, as long as the name contains none of those words - simplest is CUT.

We explode blocks (INSERT) into their component shapes ourselves before we process your file.

Dimensions and text are not geometry

Dimensions and text in a DXF file, along with leader lines (TEXT, MTEXT, DIMENSION, LEADER), are always skipped: they describe the part, they are not a shape to cut. A layer whose name contains DIM, TEXT, WYMIAR, NOTE, TITLE or RAMKA (the Polish words for “dimension” and “frame”) we also suggest skipping, and you approve it with one click. Everything else is cut.
