What it is for
- A guard or grille with a grid of holes: enclosure ventilation, a cover for a heater, fan or power supply.
- A sieve or screen with holes at a set spacing, for example for compost, sand or gravel.
- A grate to stand over a drain, a gully or a garden fire pit. Mild steel rusts without protection, so for outdoor use choose stainless steel.
- A plate with a grid of holes on which parts are hung on rods or pegs.
What we don't do
- Every hole is a separate pierce and a separate contour to cut, so the price grows with the number of holes: the pierce charge is in the price list, and the example prices below show the number of holes.
- The page works out the number of holes from the dimensions of the plate, the hole, the spacing and the border. A shape holds up to 1500 holes; for a larger plate, draw it in the editor or upload a DXF file.
- The holes sit in a plain grid, all the same (round, or elongated when the length is greater than the width). This is not mill-made perforated sheet: we don't cut staggered or decorative patterns.
- Thin sheet with a dense grid of holes can warp from the heat after cutting. For large sizes choose thicker sheet or a wider spacing.
- This is a flat plate cut raw: no bending, folding, welding or painting. We don't calculate load capacity or flow: the designer chooses the grate.
Dimension limits
The editor accepts dimensions within these limits and tells you what to fix outside them.
- Width: from 5 to 3000 mm
- Height: from 5 to 1500 mm
- Corner radius: from 0 to 750 mm
- Hole width: from 1.5 to 500 mm
- Hole length (0 = round): from 0 to 3000 mm
- Spacing, horizontal: from 1 to 3000 mm
- Spacing, vertical: from 1 to 1500 mm
- Border without holes: from 1 to 1500 mm
