What it is for

  • A base for a balustrade, fence, pergola or sign post, bolted with anchors to concrete or a foundation.
  • A foot for a stand, mast, rack or support structure that you set on the ground and bolt down.
  • A plate for your own welding: you get a flat sheet with holes, and weld a profile or tube to it yourself.
  • The centre hole lets a cable or wire through, coming out of the post or the foundation.

What we don't do

  • This is a flat plate cut from a single sheet. We don't bend, weld, tap threads, galvanise or paint.
  • We only cut sheets from our price list: their thicknesses are given in the first sentence of this page and in the price table. A base for a heavy load often needs thicker sheet, which we can't cut.
  • We don't calculate the load capacity or strength of the base or the anchors. The designer chooses the sheet thickness and the hole diameter and spacing, and a structural engineer should check load-bearing structures.
  • There are four holes in the corners, at one spacing, plus an optional one in the centre. For any other layout, draw the part in the editor or upload a DXF file.
